PARISH SOCIAL MINISTRY

The Parish Social Ministry (PSM) of St. Philip Neri is designed to reach out to those of us in need. It is simply people helping people. The mission of PSM is to live out the Gospel Message by bringing together people who are in need with those who can offer help.

The core volunteers of PSM are composed of members of our parish who desire to share their time and talent.

We organize Eucharistic Ministers to the homebound as well as social visiting.  Volunteers can provide transportation to medical appointmnets, food shopping, etc.  The core volunteers assist in the procurement of financial advice and assistance, providing guidance when seeking help from appropriate social agencies.  Together with the Ecumenical Lay Council Food Pantry, we address emergency needs for food, school supplies, Medical equipment such as wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, etc. are on hand at the PSM Office for lending.  The PSM Office supports monthly Senior Socials in the Parish Center.

PSM seeks to be responsive to demonstrated parish needs - we welcome your ideas and suggestion with respect to needs not currently being addressed.  As the needs and interests grow, so will our Parish Social Ministry.

If you would like to offer your time and talents in helping others, or if you are in need or know someone who is, please contact Michelle Corbeaux, Parish Social Ministry Coordinator (631-261-2485 extension 111 or 113).

Confidentiality is always assured.
